NCAC and KCA concluded the MOU on cooperation in consumer consultation for cross border consumer issues

The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan (NCAC) and the Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) concluded the MOU on cooperation in consumer consultation for cross border consumer issues.

On July 30, the signing ceremony for the MOU was held at NCAC in Tokyo. Mr. Tsuneo Matsumoto, the President of NCAC and Mr. Jung Dae Pyo, the then President of KCA singed the MOU.

KCA was established as a government agency based on Korea's Framework Act on Consumer. KSA is in charge of consumer consultation and redress, consumer ADR, product testing, information provision (including publication), and proposal and study of policy plans and regulations for developing the consumer protection. The function and mission of KSA are similar with those of NCAC.

Based on the MOU, NCAC and KCA cooperatively try to tackle consumer issues between Japan and Korea (i.e. problems encountered in channels of "Japanese consumer to Korean business" or "Korean consumer to Japanese business").

NCAC will further work for resolution of cross border consumer issues in cooperation with consumer organizations in other countries.
